52 Rocks, 52 Saturday Nights

The Pandemic Year

I’m not interested in the rocks names, or the magical powers they may have. During the pandemics 1st year I needed something solid to paint. Their silence, their weight, and their materiality appealed to me during the uncertainty and fear during those days.

I made these paintings on Saturday nights during the pandemic during a weekly salon called Making in Place, a branch of S.E.E.P (Society for Education and Exchange with Potluck) Founded by Robin Hill in 2015. www.rhillstudio.com
