These watercolor paintings are from my project LEAVES OF LOS ANGELES. They are natural objects from streets that I go on every day, or from streets that are meaningful to me in some way.
Bottle brush trees grow all over Los Angeles. I used to stand there just staring at these things. How could it even be possible that something like this exists? Delicate bright red tendrils shoot out of these tiny pods by the thousands!
