These watercolor paintings are from my project LEAVES OF LOS ANGELES. They are natural objects from streets that I go on every day, or from streets that are meaningful to me in some way.
Sometime in May the streets in Los Angeles become swaths of purple. The Jacaranda trees bloom with intoxicating luminescent purple flowers, which float down and cover the sidewalks. It's our version of snow.
